For over 30 years ECT services has helped customers in various sectors, including:
- Production and Manufacturing
Every project ECT performs has a story with a successful ending. We have been exposed to the good, bad, and the ugly related to design and application. We have been chosen to take over projects that were going sour, and have turned them into long term successes. We have great experiences that we use to help you in your comfort, energy cost reduction, and security needs.
Sample projects include:
Bellarmine University – Solutions included campus wide web based building automation and security integration including card access, IP video recording, and monitoring. Bellarmine is a great example of ‘single seat’ integration technologies. ECT has provided backwards compatibility with the original DDC installation saving the university tens of thousands of dollars.
Jewish Hospital and St. Mary’s Healthcare – JHSMH’s relationship with ECT began in 1988 with a federal grant for energy conservation in their Our Lady of Peace Facility in Louisville. Following that project, ECT installed DDC controls in JHSMH owned St. Mary’s and Elizabeth Hospital, Valley Medical Mall, Medical Center East, Medical Center South, Medical Center Northeast and several remote buildings. In 2004 ECT became the Integrator of Record for new facility security systems, integrating card access, IP Video, and intrusion. Currently ECT has installed security systems in 5 JHSMH facilities.
Jefferson County Public Schools – JCPS is one of the largest school districts in the US and in 1986 began its’ DDC program on all new and retrofit construction. Initial communication was thru radio modems, now replaced with dedicated IP technology LAN’s thru VPN technologies. Their single software platform, Tridium, allows integration between multiple manufacturers including BACnet, LON and MODbus.
Meidinger Tower– Meidinger Tower is a 27 story high rise in Louisville built in the 1960’s. The initial floor plan load calculation considered the lighting loads, 40 people per floor, and a few pieces of machinery (copiers, printers, etc.). Today the floor population exceeds 100, including personal work stations that generate heat. ECT Services engineering determined that there was plenty chilled water capacity, but the air distribution could not carry the required CFM’s needed for cooling. So ECT, as general contractor, removed 2 – 2,000 cfm fan powered VAV boxes from several floors and added stand alone 2,000 cfm FCU’s. The air flow saved by the 2 – 120,000 cfm AHU’s was then reallocated to other parts of the building. To date, there has been over 12,000 cfm redistributed in the building and tenant complaints ceased. The controls consist of graphical web based controls on a dedicated LAN network.
Humana– Humana is one of our newest integration customers. Humana asked ECT to participate in a design assist role for their new data processing center. The criterion was to have the card access compatible with Corporate existing card access systems. ECT presented the integration products for IP video and IP Intercom to incorporate gate controls and speed stiles for the major employee entrance. We assisted in the video wall design and security office/reception area with furniture arrangement. The system includes Image capture for badging, IP fixed indoor and outdoor camera’s, outdoor 18x and 36x PTZ camera’s, and IP Intercom for multiple access doors including property gate controls. Fiber optics were utilized between network switches and recording was accomplished with NVR’s. Since that initial design, ECT has assisted in designing high level security for Humana’s Cincinnati Headquarters Building, and it’s new Cincinnati Right Source mail order pharmacy.
