Security Integration:
9/11 flooded the market with many products and manufacturers, creating confusion for owners/end-users when selecting security for their buildings.
Utilizing either a dedicated technology LAN or your existing IT LAN, ECT can provide ‘single-seat’ integration for card access, IP Video, intercom, intrusion, mass notification, and integration to the building automation system. ECT provides design assist partnerships to ensure the owner’s needs are meet. It is ECT’s goal that the owner be as self-sufficient as they want.
In new construction, there are many players and parts for security. Example: door hardware. Providers involved are: the security integrator, the electrified door hardware provider and installer, the electrical contractor, the general contractor, the aluminum store front contractor, and the owner.
Consider the components for a door: the door position switches, data junction panels, electrical rough ins, door frame preps, card readers, exit PIR, press to exits, door strikes or latch retraction, handicap interfaces, etc.
This can be a coordination nightmare. ECT Services identified the bottleneck and finger pointing that crippled successful security projects. We created a “Responsibility Matrix” that lists every controlled door on a project, which vendor provides which parts, who installs the rough-ins and each part, plus provides a sequence of operation for each controlled door.
Once implemented, the responsibility matrix is agreed upon prior to work beginning, eliminating any controversy and assists in creating a successful project for the owner.
